Inspired by the love of God, and led by the Power of the Holy Spirit, the church of St. John the Divine, seeks to be a welcoming, caring, accepting community of faith, ministering to the wider community through worship and prayer, and by sharing our gifts and love in the service of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
St. John’s is a place of refuge from an increasingly busy world–a parish committed to helping individuals live a fully authentic life in the greater Christian community.
Regular Sunday morning services emphasize the Eucharist, using the Anglican Book of Alternative Services and talented leadership in Christian and musical ministry.
Our Kids Club welcomes children ages 3-9 for faith and fun during the Sunday services. All are welcome to sing with choir rehearsals before the service at 9:15 am. Our teenage group meets every Sunday during our 10:30am service led by our youth co-ordinator, Chris Pilon! They also meet twice a month for dinner and discussion.
Enlivened by our youth, who returned from their summer pilgrimage to Taizé (France), St. John’s continues its commitment to outreach: specific opportunities to provide loving support to our neighbours in the area of London, in Canada, and around the globe.
- Special events for members unable to attend regular services are held at Richmond Woods Retirement Residence and McGarrell Place.
- Non-perishable goods left at the back of the St. John’s sanctuary help feed the hungry in our community.
- Pennies collected in the red and blue containers in the hall go to Sleeping Children Around the World (SCAW), which provides bedkits to children of any race and/or religion who will benefit the most; typically being located in underdeveloped and developing countries.
- Money being raised for the The Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund (PWRDF) Famine Relief Fund will be matched by the Canadian government dollar for dollar.
